The Waiting Game

So, Nick and I really haven't been too anxious for Carter's arrival. Looking forward to it, YES, but hoping he would come early, not really. Just expected him to come around his due date (maybe even late since it's my first baby). That is, until our appointment this past Friday. When the doctor said I could very well have him this past weekend and talked about induction for yesterday, we really started to get antsy! It would have been amazing for him to come on Sunday and share a birthday with Nick's dad and aunt, and it would have been great if he came yesterday before my doctor went out of town for the rest of the week, but most importantly we feel it will be best for him to come when he is good and ready. However, our high hopes are making these days go by so slowly...haha. I am just so excited to hold and meet our baby boy! One thing I can tell you, expecting his soon arrival has helped to keep my house clean and my body in shape :) Our bags are packed, I'm trying to keep the house clean for whenever we have to jump in the car to head to the hospital - so the baseboards, fans, and doorframes are wiped, the shelves dusted, the range scrubbed, etc. - Sidney has had his bath, and the nursery is ready for a little one. And I think we've done more walking in the past 4 days than most people do in a month! haha. Anything to help our little guy out :)

We are just so excited and can't wait to see and love on Carter.

And here is what I am looking like these days...

  1. How exciting! Any day now! Just try not to do the induction... I've heard it's pretty bad. Have you seen the movie The Business of Being Born? Watch for your best interest in the hospital! :) XOXO

  2. You look GREAT Amber, and I am glad you're taking such good care of yourself- he is going to be such a healthy beautiful boy! I wish I had felt ok with exercising more, but being high-risk and delivery extra early scared me away from it at times. Good luck and I will be thinking and praying for your family and his delivery- you'll always cherish the memories! :)
