Today has been a pretty great day :) We woke up early this morning (I know you're probably wondering how waking up early on a Saturday can be a good thing) and headed to the hospital for "Calling all Moms-to-be." It was an informational day with booths set up on different topics (carseat safety, pumping, etc), 30 minute mini-classes (we attended 3: breastfeeding basics, infant massage, and bathing and diapering a newborn), hospital tours (we had already been on one with our childbirth class but went again so we could be even more familiar with the setup and check-in procedures), raffles (no we didn't win anything), a free photo shoot, and free food! We are really feeling more and more ready to welcome Carter into this world (and I think the world is running out of pamphlets and books for me to read in order to do so, haha).
After leaving the hospital we ran a few errands - Babies 'R' Us, Target, and JoAnn Fabrics to do a few last returns/exchanges, buy a couple things for the hospital, and purchase fabric that my friend is making me a baby sling out of :) I don't have too much errand running energy these days but Nick likes that because I don't make him stay at the stores as long...really though, he's a great sport!
Then we came home and got into the pool. It's been either cold or rainy the last week and I've been bummed we haven't been able to use the pool as much as we would have liked so far but this afternoon was amazing! I hope to have many more days like that in the near future :)
And now, we'll do a little bit of cleaning around the house before a night in with dinner and a movie. I guess none of these things in and of themselves sound too terribly exciting, but I just love spending time with Nick and not having a set schedule. So for me, it's been a great Saturday!
P.S. - I had another doctor appointment yesterday. I am sill 2cm, but 80% effaced, and Carter is head down in the -3 position. She said he weighs just about 7 pounds and is confident I will labor on my own by my due date :) We are just hoping he comes before the 30th or after the 4th because our doctor is going on vacation the first four days of June! (Although, when it comes down to it, I'm sure I won't be too concerned about who is 'catching' my baby when the time comes)
So ... a few Qs from your momma;
ReplyDelete1. do u get notification when someone comments on your blog or is it up to u to check the # of comments for new entries?
2. from my end it shows I'm a follower BUT
a) I didn't get notification of new news at your blog
b) is it b/c I checked private & anonymous?
c) have u seen my comments/this one?
d)I don't see my new photo (Destin/beach chairs) under your followers
Sounds like a perfect Saturday for yawl to me too!
I hope you get your own doc ... I didn't. Like you mentioned, doesn't make a lot of difference. A word of advice though - ask for a copy of your hospital records including the delivering MD's account AND specifically that either that physician do your follow up postpartum apts or he/she speak with your regular OB/GYN. My docs never conferred and McDavid had no idea about the ripped internal muscles, 4th degree episiotomy, etc. Looking back that was a real mistake! oxoxo Honey's calling Momma
Sounds like a great Saturday to me. I can't wait to try out your pool...and to meet Carter and see you and Nick, too. Don't listen to your mom's scary war stories :-) Carter won't beat you up like you did her :-)
ReplyDeleteYall didn't get raptured Saturday night?
