I just feel like there are so many things left to do...nothing major, just things that would give this mama some sanity about having completed. I know the nesting instinct is supposed to kick in, but I feel I only got half of it. I have this huge long list of everything I want to have accomplished by the time Carter gets here, but I'm lacking the energy/motivation to do it. haha. Slowly but surely things are coming together though. I've washed and organized all of his clothes up to 9 months, washed the bedding and made up the crib, hung his name on the wall, organized all of this toys/things, installed the carseat, finished most of my scrapbooking, written all my thank you letters, read as many books/articles as I can get my hands on, but somehow it just never feels like enough. On the top of my to-do list is packing our hospital bags (I think I should probably get on that pretty soon) and cleaning the house. I know it won't matter, but something just feels so much better about coming home to a deep cleaned house. Starting this week, hopefully I can tackle a room a day.
We had a cookout last night with some friends from seminary to celebrate the end of the semester (and the last time we'll be able to have people over for a while, haha). The weather was surprisingly cool for May but made for a great evening out in the backyard. We love all the relationships we have built out here and are so thankful for our friends. We had to say goodbye to one family, - Herbert, Jenny, Jannis, and Michah Toews - last night. They are from Germany and have been at the seminary the past two years (like us). They are sadly moving back home this week and while we are happy for all that God has in store for them, we sure will miss them!
I'll get some pictures of the nursery soon, but for now, here are some from our cookout last night and of me at 35 and 36 weeks:
35 weeks
36 weeks
So glad we got to know Herbert! We'll miss him too :0) Glad we'll all meet again in heaven for eternity!!!
