Well, it's the middle of the night and once again, I can't sleep...so I figured, why not update the blog? (Don't get too used to this people, I'm sure once Carter comes the updates will greatly slow down...)
Today we had the first of my weekly checkups. We've figured out the secret to the doctor's office wait - go on Fridays! We were on a Wednesday appointment schedule and were spending 2-3 hours for a simple check-up (as in 10 minutes in an exam room). But the last two visits (on Fridays) we have been in and out within an hour! And now that we're going once a week, this is a much welcomed surprise :) I only gained a pound in the last two weeks - hallelujah - and after examining me, the doctor told us I was already 1 cm dilated and 70% effaced! This certainly doesn't mean Carter's coming super soon but it's still so strange to hear that the process has begun for his arrival...
We assembled the stroller and carseat last night, and I love them! We got a jogging stroller which will hopefully help me get back in shape one C's here. And we already installed the carseat in the car (one, we wanted to practice putting it in/out and two, it's always good to be prepared...)
Tomorrow we are taking a childbirth class at the hospital. Nick's being a good sport about it, haha, but I am really looking forward to it! I want to be as prepared as I can be next month. Speaking of, one month from today (well, I guess yesterday since it's so late) Carter is due! I'm so excited to meet our little man :)
Sounds like you are having fun preparing for Carter. Happy first mother's day!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like it'll be super soon to me, but I'm not a doctor. You're definitely well on your way. We're excited to meet little Carter also.
ReplyDeleteDidn't realize you are awaking in the night? Try to stay rested. It's a tricky balance getting everything prepared and stocking up on sleep. Just ask God - He wants to give us all things that align with His good and perfect will :0)
ReplyDeleteSoooo exciting right now. Take it all in - like Mary - ponder these things! You only have your 1st child once.
