So we had another doctor's appointment today (the place is starting to feel like a home away from home) and received some news...Carter is CLOSE! I am 3 cm dilated, 80% effaced, and the doctor stripped my membranes. She said I looked as though I was in labor, although I'm not, and she wouldn't be surprised for our little man to come this weekend! Nick and I just stared at each other, jaws open, wondering 'are we really going to have a CHILD this weekend?!?' We have of course known this day was coming but it's always been weeks, or months, away. Now it's here. And though we were a little shell-shocked, we are so excited :) The only hiccup is that my doctor is going out of town next Tuesday through Sunday. She said she would like to deliver my baby and asked if we would like to set up an induction for Monday. We talked about all the pros and cons and she seemed to think there would be no risks in doing so. She also reiterated she wouldn't be surprised if he came before this weekend is over. Nick and I left the office to discuss it and were instructed to call back by three if we wanted to set up the induction. Though we would really like to have our doctor with us, and I would love knowing exactly when all this is going down, we decided to let Carter 'cook' until he decides to come on his own. (Our fingers are crossed that will be this weekend!) We trust God's timing and plans much more than our own and are now sitting on ready, anxiously awaiting our baby boy.
Finally, here are some pictures of Carter's Nursery (I love it!):
Sidney's favorite new spot in the house. He spends just about all his time here and I suppose is just as excited about his baby brother as we are :)
I love this bookcase loaded with books from Nick's and my childhoods
Carter's well-stocked closet
So Close! Hope we get to see pictures of him soon!
