Okay....let me just start by saying better late than never. The last year has been a whirlwind with our move to Brasília, life as a family of 6, new roles with our organization, and a renovation and move to our current house. BUT through it all, I remembered to do birthday surveys with the kids and managed to not lose those handwritten sheets. Now I'm finally sitting down to type those out and share some pictures of our kiddos' birthdays in 2023 and 2024.
Starting with....Maya! Our sweet baby girl turned 1 just two days after moving to Brasília. We were exhausted, staying in an Airbnb, trying to get our big kids enrolled in school, working on getting into our rental house, sick....but we were able to get a smash cake ordered, have a cute photoshoot at our friends' home (where our family now lives), and share a meal together.
Maya was truly the sweetest, roll with the punches baby. Her first year of life sure was full of transitions - she lived in 2 countries and 3 states - and she definitely didn't have a newborn routine being carted around to all of her older siblings' activities, but she met each day and EVERY person she encountered with the cutest, gummy smile. Maya truly loves people and is such a joy to those around her.
Maya amazed us by sleeping through the night at just 3 months old, but she decided she wanted to keep us on our toes and became a couple of times per night waker from 3 months on. By a year, she was getting closer to having that figured out. During the day, she was such a content baby. Happy to stay on a mat or in a swing or in a play station for long periods of time. By 9 months, she was figuring our crawling and at a year she was SO close to her first steps. She loves eating, her big brothers and sister are her heroes, and her favorite activity is making people smile. We sure do love our Mayinha and are so thankful God gave her to our family.
