12 With A Strike

Our Carter bug celebrated his 12th birthday with a few new school friends at the local bowling alley.  (Birthday season sure is fun/easy with all these cool party locations!).  Of our kids, I would say Carter had the most difficult transition from Alagoas to the U.S. to Brasilia.  6th grade is tough no matter what, and throw into the mix beginning a new school in the middle of the year...it's no wonder it took him a little longer to adapt.  But, he has been a trooper, and though he is still missing his Arapiraca friends, he is warming up to his new school and happy to have made some new friends. 

Carter continues to be a caring big brother and is especially sweet with little Maya.  It was wild that while we were on stateside, he was able to participate in our church's youth group...how is our baby boy so big? We sure do love him and are excited about what this year will bring.
