Before I get started...yes, this post is incredibly late going up. Long story short (which will be long story long in another post), baby Maya came into our family just a few weeks before our family's birthday season kicked into high gear, and while we were able to throw together some fun parties for the kiddos, writing their birthday blogs got put on the back burner...
Our Oliver turned 8 years old on May 24! He is a mixture of sweet and strong-willed and definitely challenges our parenting game ;) He loves to play soccer and it's exciting to watch him excel in this sport. He loves his friends and teachers and seems to be very well-loved in return. He is doing so well in school and we are very proud of how our super timid little boy has blossomed and grown.
For his birthday, he wanted something simple with his two best friends, Davi and Lavinia. We picked them all up from school on Oliver's birthday and headed to our local clube for some fun. It was a 'chilly,' rainy day but we didn't let that stop us! We played games and had relay races in the gym, they ran around on the soccer field and painted each other's faces, we ate lunch and played on the playground, and then after much pleading on the kids' part, they jumped into the pool in the rain for a little bit. Oliver chose our local soccer team, ASA, as his theme and even received a surprise video message from one of their star players, 'Feijão.' After, we came home for presents and sushi. It was a fun day celebrating our boy!
Here is Oliver's annual birthday survey:
