So I turned the big 2-5 this week...I spent a fun and relaxing day at home with my boys swimming in the pool, playing with Carter and enjoying a delicious crab leg dinner prepared by Nick :) I was blessed with many birthday wishes and am so thankful for all the loving friends and family I have! Carter got me some burp cloths as a present (he's so thoughtful) and Nick got me a necklace with two charms (one with a 'c' and one with a 'n') and a pearl hanging from it - I LOVE it!
Classes started today...yuck! This is the first semester Nick and I don't have the same schedule :( But we staggered our classes intentionally so we would not have to find childcare. We are each taking 9 hours (down from our usual load of 12). Nick's taking Introduction to Expository Preaching and Systematic Theology I on campus and World Religions online. And I am taking Cross-Cultural Ministry on campus and Systematic Theology I and World Religions online. Before Carter was born, I thought "9 hours, no big deal!"...now I'm thinking "how in the world am I going to write all these research papers while taking care of a newborn?!?" Whew, we'll see how it goes.
Nick took Carter to the campus clinic for a weigh-in while I was in class today and he is up to 12 pounds 13 ounces - such a big boy! He is just growing and growing and though he's still a little baby, he just seems so grown up to me already! He's so long that I'm going to have to put him in 6 month clothes soon even though he's not even 3 months old yet! I love that little guy so much and am so thankful to be his mommy :)
Nick's mom is coming for a quick visit next weekend which should be fun. Also, we are attending a missions expo for the International Mission Board. After another interview, we will hopefully find out a little more about where we might be going and how we might be serving after finishing up our classes in Fort Worth in May. We are excited about everything that is developing but would definitely appreciate your prayers during this process.
Happy 25th again!! Enjoy your next quarter century to the fullest. I love that necklace! Way to go, Nick!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures of Carter are awesome. He's growing so and is so happy. The "Mommy Rocks" picture is adorable. I can't wait to see him again.
I'm glad you got into the expo. More knowledge and networking is always good.
Joe is taking a "Cross-cultural pastoral care" course this semester. Y'all can compare notes.
See ya Thursday. Love.
