I say this at every kid's birthday, but it truly is unbeleivable that it has been FIVE years since our lastborn was a baby! She's lived a pretty big life in terms of all the travels she's got under her belt and cultures she's experienced, but also a lovely small life in our little corner of the world where she enjoys a lot of the simpler things.
How can I describe Leine Mae. When she's in a crowd or a new situation, she can be pretty shy - at least at first. But get her home or with a close friend or two, and our wild Leine comes out! She's got a sense of humor that keeps us rolling and has us smitten wtih her sweet little looks. She's the perfect mix of princess and rough and tumble, doing her best to hang with her brothers. She loves to take care of her 'babies" and dress up, but you'll also find her playing Pokemon and superheroes. She started a new school in February and really seemed to be thriving in her classes and with new friends. Unfortunately, we've all been home since March 18 because of the coronavirus, but she has been doing a wonderful job with homeschool and virtual school. She's definitely impressed me with how well she's doing learning to read in Portuguese! She began soccer this year and made this mama proud being the only little girl out there <3 And is also taking a ballet class at school.
For her birthday, we had an all about Leine day. She was able to choose our meals (donuts for breakfast, black beans and rice, cornbread, and watermelon for lunch, and McDonald's delivery for supper), pick our games and activities (Snow White crafts and coloring pages), and open some gifts. We had a Zoom birthday party with friends and family in the U.S. in the afternoon. She chose a Snow White theme and we had so much fun celebrating our little princess. Included in the party were a quiz about Leine Mae, a scavenger hunt, Snow White Bingo, and of course, singing Happy Birthday! To end the day, we had dinner and watched a movie...Snow White, of course.
