For Christmas Party #1, the American ladies hosted a Christmas craft party at our church. We each had a table where we taught how to make a certain craft (at my table we made 'Feliz Natal' burlap banners) and led the women in a Christmas devotional. Mid-way through we had an 'American Christmas Snack' break with cookies, flavored popcorns, hot chocolate, and wassail. Then at the end we had a time of singing and I made my debut performance on the guitar with Silent Night. (Those guitar lessons are finally paying off, ha). I invited two friends to come (one who I had just met the weekend before at the city square and one who is a new tutor of mine) and they were both able to come!
Christmas Party #2 was at our house with my high school girl Bible study group. We played some Christmas games, ate some snacks, played white elephant gift exchange, had an xbox dance tournament (I was the champion, thank you very much), and had a Christmas quiz about the true story of Christmas. It was a great time!
Christmas Party #3 was actually the day after Christmas and at our house as well. We had all the American missionaries over for a potluck dinner, Christmas charades, and a Secret Santa gift exchange. It was a night of delicious food and fun English conversation :)

Have you thought about how SNAC will be effected/amended by the new baby's name :)
ReplyDeleteIs Ms. Dana Duke signed up for yawls newsletter? She would be sooooo blessed knowing 1 of her elementary students is using guitar on the mission field!
