Nick and I danced to this song at our wedding.  (Yes, there is some incorrect theology in there, but the sentiment is sweet).  It's been popping into my head the last few weeks, especially as I sit in the glider rocking my sweet baby boy before his naps.  Before, my life seemed so complete once I married the love of my life.  But now, it is even more full, which I didn't realize was possible.  My family means the world to me and I am so blessed to be Carter's mama.

It is absolutely unreal that he turns one year old today.  I tell people that I am just finally getting used to the fact that I am a MOM and have a kid.  I feel like he should be about 2-3 months old.  But lo and behold, it's been a year and only now can I truly understand what parents mean when they say their children grow up in the blink of an eye.  

One year ago, I awoke with contractions at 4:30am and 5 short hours later, at 9:30am on the dot, our sweet bundle of joy had arrived - all 8lbs 12 oz and 21 inches of him!  Though I won't say he's been the easiest baby (he didn't sleep for the first 8 months of his life and he didn't get the breastfeeding thing down until 9 months), he has been the most wonderful thing to happen to us.  His smile will melt your heart and he has truly transformed into the happiest/cheesiest little guy you will ever meet.  He is so handsome, so funny, so loving, and so mine.  I love you Carter William!

eating, being tickled, being upside down, going outside, playing with electronics, playing in the bath, taking walks through the neighborhood, flirting with girls (no matter what their age - you're a ham!)

when we squeeze your thighs and blow raspberries on your tummy, when we play peekaboo, when you get thrown in the air, when daddy plays with Sidney, when we laugh

'I love you sweet bug'

cheese and mum mums

playing with mommy and daddy

ride on his shoulders, play with your toys, get dressed, hang out at night
