When our last volunteer team was here, they did us a great service by visiting house to house and helping us find people who are open to the gospel message. There were several people on the outskirts of the village who were eager to begin studying the Bible and asked if Nick and I could come do this with them - we of course said yes!
This group does not hold tightly to the traditional religion of their people group and seems to be able to separate the aspects of culture and religion (something we really haven't seen among the K before). Some have a background knowledge of the Bible and others are just beginning to hear these stories for the first time. Only a handful are able to read so we are working hard to truly teach them the Bible stories we are sharing so that they are ingrained in their hearts and minds.
One great thing is that it is a mixed group of men and women, so Nick and I are able to lead this study together! We've gone three times so far and have a set meeting time of 1pm on Saturdays to gather with this group. And each week, we have grown in number - from 6 to 8 to 10, PTL!
Please join us in praying for these individuals - that they will see their need for a Savior, that they won't be hindered by the fear of persecution, and that they will share these stories with their families and neighbors.
We are grateful to the good folks from Blackshear that come your way and I know they appreciate the help you are to their ministry too :) Praying with y'all as God leads you forth!!!
